The year 2009 in awards
// January 11th, 2010 // iBlast Moki
2009 was definitely a great first year for Godzilab. We released our first game iBlast Moki and we were really happy to see how well it has been received by the gamers and the press. Here is a brief overview of the great moments of 2009
The launch
In september 2009, we released iBlast Moki, our first game after 6 months of development. We decided to go on our own with the marketing and I think we did quite well for an inexperienced and unknown indie developer. After gathering emails and sometimes sending multiple times the same email, we managed to get some reviews. Every time a review was coming out, it was really exciting as the ratings were all above our expectations. The game became more and more popular and was even featured by Apple in the news and noteworthy of most europeans countries, to finally reach the top #10 all games. In the US, iBlast Moki was only featured in the what’s hot of the games section, and hardly got in the top #100 all games. It’s only when the game was mentioned simultaneously on gizmodo.com and toucharcade.com as being one of the best game of september that iBlast Moki got as high as #51 in the US.
